STATE CHIEF INFORMATION OFFICER'S PROACTIVE SCANNING DISCOVERS POSSIBLE SECURITY BREACH

Scans this week performed by the State Chief Information Office (OSCIO) identified potentially malicious activities on two information servers operated by the Department of Environmental Quality. The agency has taken steps to protect sensitive information and eliminate any future intrusion to the agency's information technology systems. Forensic investigations by security experts are ongoing to determine the extent of the incident.

MCMINNVILLE 5TH STREET UPDATE. TRAFFIC LIGHTS TO BE TURNED ON MAY 31ST


Phase 4 of the pavement reconstruction work on 5th Street, from Lafayette Avenue west to the railroad tracks, is scheduled for Monday, May 22nd through Friday, May 26th. The new traffic signals on 5th Street are scheduled to be
activated the evening of May 31st.

CITY COUNCIL SLOWS DOWN AIR SHOW

The McMinnville city council gave a a green light to the proposed Atticus hotel and gave a caution light to proponents for an air show at the Mac airport.
The council, acting as the urban Renewal Agency Board, unanimously okayed a 100-thousand dollar forgiveable five year loan to an eight point three million dollar upscale 36 room hotel to be located at Ford and fourth streets. There will be a ground breaking 7am Monday morning and the 300 dollar a night hotel should open spring of 2018.

SEARCH CONTINUES FOR SHERIDAN MAN IN YAMHILL RIVER

At about 1:40 a.m., the Yamhill County Sheriff's Office and Sheridan Fire units were dispatched to a report of a man in the Yamhill River. The initial call indicated that a male had jumped or fallen from the bridge located near the intersection of S. Bridge Street and Main Street. He was last seen floating down river.
