MAC CITY COUNCIL DENIES EDMUNSTON STREET VACATION REQUEST
October 11, 2017
Opponents of a street vacation request apparently won their case in front of the McMinnville city council last night. Richard Anderson of 960 SW Edmunston Street has requested the city vacate a portion of SW Edmunston STreet to allow the construction of a retaining wall to aid in drainage. He apparently has not been able to have the neighbors voluntarily agree to vacate part of the street, so he asked the city to start the request.
That prompted a flurry of letters to the city strongly objecting to the request, claiming it would destroy natural habitat, decrease the value of their property, and restrict access to a walking route by neighbors.
in the end, city councilors did not find the need to proceed with the vacation request and rejected the request.
